BUNBU – RYODO highlights the ability of the samurai of being skilled military and in the arts. BUNBU- RYODO is Japanese and is made out of four kanji.
BUN – arts and science / cultural studies

DO – way / road
An uneducated samurai was considered dangerous and in order to balance, it was important to be educated as well. This allows the samurai to deepen their character and become a better individual as a whole. This included knowing how to read and write, being familair with history, philosophy, science and religion. Other examples include music, the tea ceremony and painting.
The SS20 collection items are mostly named after noteworthy Japanese samurai, known for achieving bunbu-ryodo.
